Pan Head Self Tapping Screw

Pan Head Self Tapping Screw is a kind of threaded fastener that can self drill the matched female thread in the pre drilling of metal or non-metal materials.

Basic introduction

Pan Head Self Tapping Screw are mostly used for connection between thin metal plates(steel plates, saw plates, etc.).When connecting,the threaded bottom hole shall be made for the connected part first,and then the self tapping screw shall be screwed into the threaded bottom hole of the connected part. Since the thread surface of the self tapping screw has a high hardness (≥ hrc45),the internal thread can be tapped in the thread bottom hole of the connected part to form a connection.

Screw classification

The shape of screw head includes round head,flat head,semi countersunk head and countersunk head. Pan Head Self Tapping Screw are generally made of carburized steel,and the surface hardness of the material after heat treatment is not less than 45hrc.Compared with the threads of ordinary screws,when the same large diameter is used,the pitch is larger and the small diameter is slightly smaller,which has been standardized.

Screw action

Self tapping locking screws are also used for connection between thin metal plates.The thread is a common thread with an arc-shaped triangular cross-section,and the thread surface also has a high hardness.Therefore,when connecting,the screw can also tap the internal thread in the thread bottom hole of the connected part to form a connection.This screw is characterized by low screwing torque and high locking performance.It has better working performance than ordinary self tapping screws and can be used instead of machine screws.

The self tapping screws of the wallboard are used for the connection between the gypsum wallboard and the metal keel. The thread is double headed thread,and the thread surface also has high hardness(≥ hrc53),which can be quickly screwed into the keel without making prefabricated holes to form a connection.

Pan Head Self Tapping Screw and hexagon head self tapping screw are applicable to the occasion where the drill bit is allowed to be exposed.The hexagon head self tapping screw can follow a larger torque than the Pan Head Self Tapping Screw. Countersunk head and hexagon flower shaped self tapping screws are suitable for occasions where the nail head is not allowed to be exposed.Hexagon flower shaped self tapping screws can bear greater torque than countersunk head self tapping screws;Semi countersunk head tapping screws are suitable for situations where the nail head is allowed to be slightly exposed.
